Through 3 Quarters

The Texas A&M Aggies were the heavy favorites here for a reason. After three quarters it's looking more and more like their high-powered offense is just too much for the Kent State Golden Flashes as the Aggies lead 27-3. A&M has come by their advantage honestly, as they have outgained Kent State 484 yards to 226.

A&M's offense has come from several players so far, with RB Devon Achane leading the way by rushing for one TD and 80 yards on eight carries. That touchdown -- a 63-yard rush in the third quarter -- was one of the highlights of the game.

A&M has been a nightmare for Kent State's offensive line with three sacks already. We'll see how many sacks A&M can scare up the rest of the game.

Who's Playing

Kent State @ No. 5 Texas A&M

Last Season Records: Texas A&M 9-1; Kent State 3-1

What to Know

The Texas A&M Aggies and the Kent State Golden Flashes will face off at 8 p.m. ET Sept. 4 at Kyle Field to kick off their 2021 seasons. After a 9-1 record last year and a win in the Orange Bowl, A&M is coming in with an eye to spark another quality season. Likewise, after a 3-1 record last season, Kent State comes in with an eye to spark another first-rate season.

A couple defensive numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: The Aggies were second best in the nation in rushing yards allowed per game, finishing the 2020 season giving up only 92 on average. As for the Golden Flashes, they ranked third in the nation in passing touchdowns allowed, closing the season allowing only two overall.

A&M has the odds in their favor, so they'll need to guard against complacency. A win is hardly a sure thing, especially this early in the season, so expect a good game.
